My band played the Rollerina many times in the early 60s. We even backed the Coasters once. I think I learned how to skate backwards there. LOL

what a fantastic career in promotions! second ONLY to the great Bill Graham... to be able to get HUGE acts to our teeny little venue was incredible. and these were not concerts but DANCES! (always in socks to protect the roller skating floor.) i still have my "program" from one of the yardbirds' appearances at the rollarena. i was there every friday night that i wasn't on restriction.

Wow! I remember going to Minit Printing with my father as a kid and being in awe of all the wonderful photos and posters Bill had up. I now have a Doors poster that was given to my dad by Bill. Thanks Bill for all the scraps of paper you let me have to doodle on!

Bill I so glad that you have this site up and showing so many of the various posters and some of the very popular bands including " Stanley and The New Fendermen. Bob Manning and myself of the original "Stanley and The Fendermen" have hooked up with Mike Cantrell of " The Just VI" which was another very popular East Bay Band of the sixties (which is also in your book) with the help Mike Tringali have created the group called " The New Fendermen" and we are presently playing and rocking the house all over the S.F. Bay Area. You can see us and hear some of our sounds on our website which is www.myspace.com/thenewfendermen

Thanks so much for all that you have done for all us.

Rock On Dana Schlotz

Great site. I enjoyed spending time at your shop, talking with former band members about their musical exploits.

Can't wait to get the book! All of those bands I'd hear about playing dances on KYA back when I was 12 or 13 all in this book. Amazing. There's even some bands I got to hear at Jr. High and High School dances. Nymbus was my fave in high school. Used to see them at Weeks Park.

Rock on!
