Hi , years ago I found a box of master tapes from loadstone records out of san Francisco . I was told a master tape of the Flourescents was a Garage Band . I still have it and have never heard it . Does anyone have the 45 so I can hear it ? Has it been released on cd ? The other master tapes were soul groups . Flouresents was the only garage band in the box . I feel fortunate to have grown up in the east bay area in the 1960s. The music scene was fantastic - and I'm not just talking about the S.F. scene at Fillmore and Winterland. Every city had at least one great band playing mostly original music. I didn't venture out of Dublin often, but I enjoyed reading about other east bay bands. BTW: Tom Kolb, also from Dublin, is playing in Sgt Pepper with me 44 years after we met at a Dublin Youth Dance.

We (Crystal Garden)took a picture with Miss Teen San Leandro in the late 60's that made the paper. If you google Crystal Garden Garage Band you can see the pic. We were all sitting in a car. It maybe you.

My daughter gave me a pleasant gift for my birthday last year “Garage Bands From the 60’s Then and Now”. It brought back great memories of the great music being created by the band’s of that era. And now a website to bring it all together. We were known as the Tame Greens. Myself (rhythm guitar), Bob (bass guitar), Mike (Lead Singer), Nick (lead guitar) and Gary (drums) enjoyed playing at the Rollarena, Highlands Ago Ago and I think we even performed at Bethel Island. Our style was Stones, Kinks and original material. Thanks for the memories……

We 'Manor Boy's" never missed a Friday night at the Rollarena during 1966-1967. Epic memories of all the great bands and more than a few fights now and then. The Harbinger Complex was the real deal and the Misanthropes rocked.

Wow, I found this site totally by accident! When French's reopened, I helped set up the house sound mix area, and worked there mixing shows for a time. I worked on the Taj Mahal show, and have fond memories of a Country Joe gig, where Barry Melton was playing a solo all over the club with a reeeeally long cord (no wireless in those days!), with a screamin' little Fender amp cranked up to 11!! Fun times!! Great to see the Frenchy's history online.
