Bill is my uncle. I remember the days he would bring concerts to EUREKA CA. I was very young back then and wasn't into music, so I worked at the concession stand. Once I feel asleep in the coat rack area and woke up after the concert was over and all the coats were gone. I even worked at my uncle Bill's print shop during the summer. I really can appreciate what my uncle has done for so many now that I am older. Once Cher even held my hand at a Las Vegas show when I was around 12 and sang to me. I still think my Uncle Bill had something to do with that!!!!! Hi UNCLE BILL

Does anyone know of a web site for South Bay 60s bands. Played with New Breeds (Brimstone Carriage) from 1965 thru 1968. Never played at Bill Quarry's events, played with Chocolate Watchband, William Penn & his Pals, Music Machine, Doors. Venues included every High School, most all Colleges in bay area, were regulars at Standford, USF, and Cal. Continental Roller Rink, Bold Night, Winchester Cathedral.
Won a Columbia Recording Contract, didn't we all? Played at Whiskey a Go Go. Had a huge fan club with bumper stickers, posters, photos, buttons. Great fun, and fortunate to have survived it all.

this is a great site! many memories here. I am looking for Mike and Don Cantrell... they had a band named the Just IV I think it was... I've actually known them since I was 2 years old but lost touch many years ago. Their folks and mine were good friends. The last time I saw Mike was in 1966 I think it was at the Rollerena in San Leandro one night when they were playing there... if anyone knows where I can find them please let me know! thank you in advance for any help...

My brother Ron Rotarius was in the Harbinger Complex. I have so many great memories of listening to the band practicing their music! Does anyone know if Bill Quarry is still alive & if so my brother would like to talk to him.He would also like to talk to Gary Clark & Jimmy Redding. Ron just recently talked with Jim Hawkstaff which made him very happy...he had been looking for him!I saw that Rick Octavio commented on this sight..Ron would like to hear from you too!

I feel fortunate to have grown up in the east bay area in the 1960s. The music scene was fantastic - and I'm not just talking about the S.F. scene at Fillmore and Winterland. Every city had at least one great band playing mostly original music. I didn't venture out of Dublin often, but I enjoyed reading about other east bay bands. BTW: Tom Kolb, also from Dublin, is playing in Sgt Pepper with me 44 years after we met at a Dublin Youth Dance.

Thanks for the music you brought to the world I remember the many great times my friends and I enjoyed your great selections you booked into your clubs we got to experience many great artists From Taj Mahal, Tower of Power, Tesla, Eric Martin, Bo Didley, and David LaFlame. The East Bay could sure use a new place to experiece live music and dancing again. It sure would be wonderful if we could build together and bring this "MUSIC History" together in a new club. I expect there would be many in the community that would love to see something they are just waiting to experience the great music and a new generation awaits you; lets bring Light into the darkness. Please lets start the ball rolling once again This is just to much MUSIC history that needs to be saved, seen, and heard from again and again.!

Hi Bill,
My daughter gave me a pleasant gift for my birthday last year “Garage Bands From the 60’s Then and Now”. It brought back great memories of the great music being created by the band’s of that era. And now a website to bring it all together. We were known as the Tame Greens. Myself (rhythm guitar), Bob (bass guitar), Mike (Lead Singer), Nick (lead guitar) and Gary (drums) enjoyed playing at the Rollarena, Highlands Ago Ago and I think we even performed at Bethel Island. Our style was Stones, Kinks and original material. Thanks for the memories……
