We 'Manor Boy's" never missed a Friday night at the Rollarena during 1966-1967. Epic memories of all the great bands and more than a few fights now and then. The Harbinger Complex was the real deal and the Misanthropes rocked.
thanks for all the Good Times.

Wow, I found this site totally by accident! When French's reopened, I helped set up the house sound mix area, and worked there mixing shows for a time. I worked on the Taj Mahal show, and have fond memories of a Country Joe gig, where Barry Melton was playing a solo all over the club with a reeeeally long cord (no wireless in those days!), with a screamin' little Fender amp cranked up to 11!! Fun times!! Great to see the Frenchy's history online.

Thank you for all the work you did bringing bands to the east bay, and allowing local bands to perform at your venues.

I loved the days lenard silva would have his BBQ,s up on old oaky hill. It would bring a lot of great friends together. Good music, good food, good memories. I Sure miss Leroy and his pops for all the good times. There was a lot of great bands. I would like to mention a couple of bands not mention. The undecided, The post raisin band, and others that would play at the boys club dances. S.L. Surly had and still has lots of talent.

The name of the band member of Them leaving the stag is Jim Armstrong. He showed me how to play some of their songs.

Thanks Bill for this website. I not only enjoyed playing music in the 60's but I get to enjoy hearing about it now that I am in my 60's. How fun is that?

Hi Bill, my dad was the drummer for a band that you featured in your book, named Crystal Garden. Just want to thank you for your time and energy in putting this book together. My dad was very happy when this came out, we unfortunatly lost him to cancer 2 years ago, but is nice to know that he is remembered for what he loved to do.
